An A-Z of waiting
A is for anger—it won’t go away
B is for boredom—we’ve been here all day
C is for coping—it’s what I do best
D is for doing it all...and the rest!
E’s for enduring the pity and fear
F is for families and keeping them near
G is for getting the kids to accept him H is for having the need to protect him *
J is for juggling—my strength and my weakness
K is for knowing those moments of bleakness
L is for laughter—how else would we cope?
M is for moping—I like a good mope
N is for never being naïve again
O is for one day his snoring—but when?
P is for prison—the smell never goes
Q is for queuing and holding your nose
R is for reasons to try to be cheerful
S is for snapping, then getting an earful
T is for trying so hard to stay cool
U is for not understanding the rules
V is for vainly attempting to smile
W is for what I went through at the trial
X is for kissing—as much as you can
Y is for years hanging on for your man
Z is for zero—the amount in my purse
Just look on the bright side— it can’t get much worse!
