Pilot training project 2006-7
From June 2006 to March 2007 we ran a pilot training project across the south west of England. Funded by Lankelly Chase Foundation, Tudor Trust, Anchor Foundation, Devon & Cornwall Probation and Live Music Now! and supported by pact we developed a training pack and ran 30 one-day training sessions to multi-agency groups of professionals whose work involves supporting prisoners’ families.
“Excellent variety of mediums; clear, easy to listen to and well delivered.”

Three-year plan
In Summer 2007 we drew up a three-year plan to develop our String of Pearls work.
Funding for three-year plan
In January 2008 the Lankelly Chase Foundation and Tudor Trust combined to offer us £15,000 per annum for three years towards our three-year development programme. Having received funding from these foundations for our pilot training project in 2006-7, we were delighted that they demonstrated their ongoing support and commitment to our work with this offer.
In February 2008 we were granted £3,930 by NOMS south west to continue our work while we sought long-term funding.
In May 2008 we were awarded £10,000 per annum for three years by The Rayne Foundation to cover Relate OCN Mentoring and Basic Counselling training for ex-offenders and families.
In July 2008 the Allen Foundation awarded us £5,000 towards marketing the trained String of Pearls mentors.
